Management Classes Approved By Department Of Buildings For Heat Detector In Process Safety

By Martha Campbell

Employees expect to work in safe environments if anything happens that put their lives and safety at risk while at work, the employer will be held responsible. Construction work involves working at sites that can be dangerous if no safety measures are taken. So construction companies need at least one person responsible for heat detector in process safety. A security manager class is recommended for people who want to work in the security department in construction sites.

New York has several approved course providers. People who reside in New York and who want to follow this career path should enrol in one of them. There is Able Safety Consulting LLC course provider which is situated in Massapequa Park. It has 5 security and concrete courses, you can choose one. It has a concrete security manager course that runs for 30 hours, and the other one runs for 8 hours.

The safety courses can either be completed in 40 hours or 8 hours. New trainees can enrol in a 40-hour Site manager course while people who have taken this course before can take a refreshing course that last for 8 hours. The Site Safety Coordinator course runs for 8 hours for both new and old trainees. There are other 2 course providers that offer the same training courses, they are; the Structure Compliance Group LLC and the LEARN Centre.

All Borough Safety Training LLC only provides classes, it doesn t give concrete classes. There are 3 courses you can choose from in this training facility. You can either enrol in Site Manager Course which requires 40 hours of training, or a refresher which requires only 8 hours or a Site Security Coordinator.

Other companies offer more courses in addition to security and concrete courses. For example, Site Security LLC has all the 5 courses discussed above and additional 15 other approved courses. These additional courses are related to scaffolding security training, electricity classes, the use of derricks and cranes in a safe way, and rigging methods that are safe courses. In total, the courses offered by this company are 20.

There are times where an employee will need a specific course only because of the nature of their work. For example, people who work with installing scaffolds may only need security courses related to scaffolds. Institutions like Cement Masons Local 780 and Building Trades Employers Educational Association are examples of the course providers that gives only one specific course, they all give a course named Supported Scaffold User & Refresher.

Local law 196 of 2017 in New York requires that construction workers and supervisors take at least one course that runs for at least 10 hours. This act will be fully phased in 2019, at this time the training time should be at least 40 hours. If you take a course that is not from the approved course providers, the Department of Buildings in New York will not recognise it and thus will not give you a management security licence.

There are several other more approved course providers listed on the NYC.gov website. These courses were structured to give workers the skills of maintaining a safe construction site for them while working, for people passing by the site and future occupants and users of the building or structure under construction, it also will be a prestige for the company.
